LIVING ONE DAY AT A TIME

I haven't been keeping my blog up due to Jim's cancer and treatment.  We have gone to Oregon Health and Science University Hospital in Portland, Oregon for a second opinion and Jim is set to have surgery January 5th there.

The treatment almost killed him, putting him in the hospital for eleven days.  It was brutal with the radiation and chemo together.  Jim has a heart condition that has also complicated things.  Today was the day he was scheduled for surgery but due to the complications we are waiting until after the holidays.  Jim is starting to feel better, put some weight on, and is gaining energy.

We just celebrated a early Christmas celebration with two of our children and our two grandchildren.  It was a wonderful week-end full of sledding, games, laughter, and eating!  I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I will be back after Jim recovers.  Please keep us in your prayers.  This is a very serious surgery and with Jim's heart it places him at a higher risk.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

I have just caught up with your blog again Linda, and my thoughts and prayers are with you both. I have a couple of friends here in Australia who have been through the same sort of surgery, not thinking they would make it, but are still alive and enjoying life after 8 and 10 years respectively.
