Update on Life

I have not posted in a very long time due to my husband, Jim, being diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer.  It has hit us very hard and he has been very ill.  He is going through radiation and chemotherapy presently.  He is facing a very large and life changing surgery.  His entire esophagus will be removed and his stomach will be pulled up and made into a new esophagus.  It is truly amazing what they can do these days and we are grateful.
My whole life revolves around him and making him comfortable, keeping weight on him, and just being together.

We just celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary September 20th.  I hope to spend many more years with this man who is the love of my life.

I have been very remiss in visiting blogs, but Jen left me a hello today so I skirted over here to see you and found your challenging news. I do hope Jim is mending well and that you are both keeping the faith. I know of 2 individuals that had that surgery very successfully so I hope your Jim does as well. I will be thinking warm positive thoughts and sending them out west.
Take care.

I am so sorry to hear of your struggles... however I know you will hold to each other and face this challenge with all the courage you can summons. I will be praying that you are given an extra measure and that god will keep his hand on you though it all :)
Healing hugs!

I have not visited your blog for a while so I was horrified to read the news of your husband's cancer. By this time I imagine he has had the surgery, I hope he is progressing well. I have two friends who successfully survivied the operation and are leading fulfilling lives again. My thoughts go out to you. Robin
